LawPath positions itself as the Uber of the legal world and plans to disrupt the legal market. But, is LawPath going to solve your legal problems. Or, will you wind up spending on a lawyer?

Our team has spent hours analysing LawPath’s document library against our benchmark for ease of use, quality and customer support.

In this review, we’ll explain why we’ve rated LawPath highly and expose a few bugs in the system. Spoiler alert! The LawPath “free-trial” is one of them.

LawPath's biggest selling point is it extensive team of 1,000+ lawyers who are on hand to help with your legal document.

Completing a document on LawPath is easy to do yourself. And, if you want some support from a lawyer, you are an enticing button-click away from a fixed-price legal quote. Who doesn't want to know that a lawyer has their back, if it's not going to break the bank? After all, the risks of getting it wrong are perilous.

When visit the LawPath site, you'll see an option to "Get me a legal quote". Select this, enter your postcode and a brief description of the work you want done. LawPath will then give you a selection of lawyers who they consider are appropriate for your job. Each lawyer provides a fixed-price quote. So, you’ll have a range of lawyers to choose from at different price points without the hassle of shopping around to different law firms.

The lawyers on the panel are vetted by LawPath and therefore they should be of a good standard. According to LawPath, many of the lawyers have “worked at Top-Tier Firms and ASX-200 Companies”.

We found some of LawPath's documents a little "overblown" for their user base. That is, they can be long-winded and difficult for the average non-lawyer to read. Perhaps, this is because LawPath has sourced its templates from big-end-of-town law firms. They have a tie in with a mega international law firm, Norton Rose Fulbright.

You may want to “dumb down” some of the LawPath documents, so they are easier to read. For example, if you are preparing terms and conditions for your small business, you’ll likely want a document that is “legal”, yet not too scary and overwhelming for your customers.

While LawPath offers a "Free Trial", we should point out that it only gives you access to one document. Any edits, or to get the document in Word format (docx), will require a subscription. In other words, LawPath offer a freemium bite to give you a taste of how they work. But you’ll likely need to join as a paid member to make full use of a template.

Summing up the pros and cons of LawPath, we must say it's very impressive. With over 200+ legal documents and a team of 1,000+ lawyers on hand, it's hard to surpass their offering. Particularly, for a small business person seeking an affordable yet effective legal solution.

About LawPath

LawPath is based on the concept that everyone should have access to affordable legal services. It targets consumers of business-law services.

While "LawPath" is the correct name for the business, it is also often written as two words, "Law Path". The LawPath website and business is operated by an Australian company, LawPath Operations Pty Limited (ACN 163 055 954).
